A Colorado girl has been moved into hospice care after a freak accident in which she strangled herself on her swing.
The family of five-year-old Aurora Masters says the young girl suffered fatal brain damage and they are preparing to turn off her life support machine after the accident earlier this week. Her organs will be donated.
Aurora, of Fort Collins, moved her small plastic slide to her swing while playing in the yard of her family’s well-kept home.
But when he fell down the slide, his neck became trapped between the ropes of his swing.
His brain lacked oxygen, and doctors at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora delivered the terrible news Saturday that he will not survive.

‘Today they gave us some tests to see where we are. Aurora was left without oxygen and that caused her brain to swell. “An MRI confirmed today that the swelling was significant enough to not go down and we have made the difficult decision to transition Aurora to hospice care and organ donation,” wrote her great-aunt, Brenda Kennedy.
‘Right now, we are looking at options to make her transition as easy as possible for her. Thank you all for your continued thoughts, prayers and actions for our sweet girl. If you looked up last night, or look up tonight, you will see our Miss Aurora giving you a beautiful spectacle with the borealis,” she wrote.
The family has rallied around the Masters with 19 members coming from the states of Wyoming and Nebraska to be at Aurora’s bedside.
