Jung Hoo Lee’s rookie season ended after a month and a half.
The San Francisco Giants outfielder will undergo season-ending surgery on his left shoulder. the team announced on Friday. Lee is in the first season of a six-year, $113 million contract he signed last offseason.

The injury occurred Sunday, when Lee attempted to make a leaping catch in right-center field off the wall at Oracle Park. His glove missed Cincinnati Reds infielder Jeimer Candelario’s double as his arm came down hard on the padded top of the fence (video above).
