August 23rd: Laundrie flies back to Utah to ‘join Gabby’ on her trip

August 24: Petito is last seen in a Salt Lake City hotel with Laundrie

August 25th: Petito makes one last call to his mother, Nichole Schmidt, and tells her he was in Grand Teton National Park.

August 25 or 26: The couple chats with the owner of a store called ‘Rustic Row’ in Victor, Utah, for about 20 minutes.

August 27th: The video of Petito’s truck was taken by blogger Jenn Bethune around 6:30 pm at Spread Creek Campground; Witnesses say they saw a ‘commotion’ with the couple at the Merry Piglets Tex-mex restaurant in Jackson, Wyoming

August 29: The day Wisconsin TikToker Miranda Baker claimed Laundrie approached her and her boyfriend in Grand Teton National Park and asked for a ride at 5:30 p.m.

August 30th: Schmidt receives last message from Petito’s phone: ‘No service in Yosemite’

September 1st: Laundrie returns to his parents’ house in North Port, Florida in a van without Petito

September 6 and 7: Laundrie and his parents visit the Fort De Soto campground in Florida

11 of September: Schmidt reports Petito’s disappearance to the New York authorities; Petito and Laundrie’s truck was impounded by police in Florida that same day.

September 12: Grand Teton National Park rangers search for Petito

September 13th: Laundrie’s lawyer says Oct. 5 that his parents now “believe” this was the day they last saw him heading for a hike.

September 14: Laundrie issues statement about Petito’s disappearance through his lawyer; Laundrie’s parents claimed on September 17 that Laundrie left his parents’ house to go on a hike that day and they had not seen him since.

September 15: Laundrie officially named person of interest in Petito case

September 18: North Port Police and FBI begin searching Carlton Reservation in Sarasota County for missing Brian Laundrie

September 19th: Bethune realizes she has video of Petito’s truck around 12 a.m. and sends the footage to the FBI 10 minutes later; Authorities announce that a body matching Petito’s description was found near Grand Teton National Park in the afternoon.

September 21st: The coroner confirms that the remains found in Grand Tetons belong to Petito. His death is being ruled a homicide, but his cause of death is still under investigation.

September 23: FBI issues arrest warrant for Laundrie for ‘use of unauthorized access device’ for fraudulently using a Capitol One Bank debit card that was not his between August 30 and September 1 to spend $1,000; Investigation begins into police handling of Aug. 12 Utah police incident; Laundrie’s parents visit his lawyer in Orlando

September 25th: Dog the Bounty Hunter joins the search for Laundrie

September 26: A funeral is held for Petito in Holbrook, New York, and his family launches a charity to help parents find missing children.

September 27th: Search for Laundrie at Carlton Reserve narrows after 10 days of searching without finding him. Dog the Bounty Hunter says Laundrie and her parents stayed at Fort De Soto Park from September 1-3 and September 6-8, and that on the last visit only the parents left.

September 28: Laundrie’s mother is accused of using a burner phone to communicate with her son on September 29: Documents reveal Laundrie’s mother canceled a reservation for two at the Fort De Soto Park campground from September 1 to 3 and booked for three from September 6 to 8; FBI seizes surveillance footage from site; The FBI is investigating the tip that Laundrie purchased a burner phone on September 14;

September 30th: Body camera footage from a second officer from the August 12 incident is released showing a distraught Petito admitting that Laundrie hit her; FBI agents collect more evidence from Laundrie home

October 1st: Laundrie’s sister is found to have had contact with him after she said yes

October 2nd: An Appalachian Trail hiker claims to have seen Laundrie near the Tennessee-North Carolina border

October 3: Investigators searched the Appalachian Trail area for any signs that Laundrie had been there.

4th of October: Laundrie’s sister told protesters outside her home that her family has been ignoring her after they rebuked her story and that she doesn’t know where her brother is.

October 5th: Laundrie’s sister appeared on Good Morning America to say she would turn her brother in if she knew where he was;

October 7: Laundrie’s father, Christopher, joins FBI agents in the search for his son at the Carlton Reservation, but the search turns up no clues.

October 12 °: Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue announces autopsy findings showing Petito died of strangulation; No specific date of death was given, only that she died between 3 and 4 weeks before her body was found.

October 16: Petito’s parents are seen collecting his ashes from the Valley Morgue in Jackson, Wyoming.

October 20: Human remains found in the Carlton Reserve

October 21: The FBI confirms that the body found belongs to Brian Laundrie. A notebook, a backpack and a waterproof bag were also found near the body.
