A loving dad shelled out nearly $3 million for a home and quickly handed the keys to his daughter.
The father bought the four-bedroom house at 10 Murray Street in Marrickville, in Sydney’s Inner West, for $2.912 million just 30 minutes after first inspecting it.
BresicWhitney Inner West agent Brad Papaellinas told the Sydney Morning Herald His daughter had told her father that she was in love with the property.
“The daughter fell in love with the house and told her father,” Papaellinas said.
‘She previously rented in Newtown and loved the inner west and wanted to return to the area after moving back in with her parents in (eastern suburb) Bellevue Hill.
The doting father had registered as one of seven bidders for Saturday’s auction.
The home had a price guide of $2.2 million.
Bidding opened at $2.35 million and soon surpassed the reserve of $2.4 million.

To win the property, the father had to outbid four active bidders.
They included a couple who recently sold in Bellevue Hill, a local from Marrickville, a single professional from Surry Hills and a family from Bundeena on Sydney’s southern outskirts.
The sale was one of 918 auctions scheduled in Sydney on Saturday.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported a preliminary auction clearance rate of 59 per cent from 890 reported results.
206 auctions were withdrawn, which are counted as unsold properties when calculating the clearance rate.

The father, who outbid two first-home buyers at auction, said he planned to rent the two-bedroom art deco cottage in the southeastern Melbourne suburb of Frankston until his daughter was old enough to move out.
