Fans have heaped praise on Arne Slot after the Liverpool manager provided a scathing post-match analysis of Manchester United’s struggles on Sunday afternoon.
Slot helped mastermind a 3-0 win for his team Liverpool at Old Trafford, with Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah scoring for the Reds.
It was Slot’s third league game in charge and his third consecutive win. His side are also the only team yet to concede a goal in the Premier League so far.
The Dutchman’s tactics have paid off and after Sunday’s game he offered fans an insight into his analysis after analysing United’s structural problems.

‘This season, they press more with 9 and 10, so they play more with a 4-4-2. That’s different, of course. I see them, in my opinion, working harder if the ball goes through them, so they run more. That’s at least what I saw in their first few games.
‘Their style is also… maybe from last season, I can’t remember well… but their full-backs, nine times out of ten, are way forward, and then Casemiro comes in the middle. So if you get the ball and you can keep Diaz and Mo Salah forward, then you’re constantly in a one-on-one situation.
“Then you need midfielders who can run, and today we had three of them who were running non-stop, and if they get into a duel, they are aggressive enough to win it. So that was, I think, one of the main reasons why we were able to win today.”
Fans were quick to praise Slot’s post-match analysis, with one follower writing on X: “Slot knows football. He’s barely spent anything this season. 3 games, 3 clean sheets. Here, he analyses United’s preparation problems. ETH, in his interview, puts it down to individual mistakes.”
One frustrated United fan wrote: “Arne Slot explained perfectly our style of play with Ten Hag and how his team beat us today in just two minutes on Sky Sports. I can’t be a moron.”
Another said: ‘Arne Slot ripped Ten Hag’s tactics apart not just for this game but for last season in 2 minutes and all that shows Ten Hag’s tactical naivety. Also see his emphasis on ‘midfielders who can run’ which is very important for any Premier League team but Ten Hag refuses to fix that problem.’
After the match, Slot also insisted that he wants to enjoy Mohamed Salah’s talents for as long as possible after the Egyptian scored one goal and set up two in Liverpool’s 3-0 win.
Salah, 32, is in the final season of his Liverpool contract and afterwards admitted he treated it as his last appearance at Old Trafford.
Fans were quick to praise Slot after the Dutchman exposed United’s flaws.
There was criticism of Ten Hag after the United boss failed to prevent a heavy defeat.
Asked about Salah’s comments, Slot said: “There are a lot of ‘ifs’. Right now he is one of us and I am very happy that he is one of us and he played very well. I don’t talk about player contracts but I could talk for hours about how Mo played today.”
“Everything a coach wants to see, he saw in this game,” Slot said.
‘There were some difficult moments for us, United started very well but then we had a goal disallowed and there was no negative reaction.
‘We kept playing, we scored three goals, we could have scored more, two important saves from Alisson and the work rate without the ball was incredibly good and that makes it a very positive day.’
