But his followers were shocked to realize the BBC Radio 2 presenter was close to reaching the milestone.

Meanwhile, the birthday boy was inundated with comments from other famous faces wanting to send him their well wishes.
Strict winner and former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach wished Vernon a happy birthday and adorned her comment with heart emojis.

‘Vernon is a great father: he loves them very much. I don’t know if there’s a good cop or a bad cop, but maybe sometimes he’s a little stricter. “But it’s for the common good and we’re a good team.”
‘I’m proud of how sensible they are. That’s what you want: kids who are kind, have a good work ethic, and respect people. You’re just trying to mold good humans.
Tess and Vernon’s eldest daughter is currently studying at drama school.
