A superyacht worker is facing legal delays after he allegedly kidnapped his ex-girlfriend twice and forced her to take a “blood oath” not to tell anyone.

Ethan Davis was charged in September last year with a series of domestic violence offenses relating to his allegedly “obsessive” behavior following the breakdown of their relationship.

Court documents reveal that the couple met in 2022 while working on a superyacht called Oceana, which was purchased by its current owner for more than $12.8 million.

They began a casual relationship which ended in August 2023 when the woman broke up with Mr Davis outside the Bondi restaurant, Icebergs.

Police allege the Central Coast resident demanded to know who else he was dating and took his phone.

When the woman threatened to scream unless he gave her the phone back, he allegedly responded, “Then scream.”

Court documents claim she followed Mr. Davis to his car while he tried to retrieve his phone.

The woman allegedly got into her car but began shouting at passers-by through the open door, prompting the superyacht worker to slam it shut and drive away.

Police allege that Davis also demanded her ex return the jewelry he had bought her before eventually dropping her off at home.

He asked her to “take a blood oath not to tell anyone,” according to police charges.

In response, police claim that “the victim swore on her parents’ lives that she would not tell anyone.”

On another occasion, the woman said she confronted Mr. Davis at work and told him to stop threatening her.

“So you don’t want to do it?” she asked him later, according to court documents.

When her ex said no, court documents state, police allege Davis texted her: “You disappoint me” before calling her more than 200 times in multiple requests.

He allegedly sent the woman a series of messages days after their breakup, demanding she answer her phone.

Police allege Davis went so far as to transfer $0.01 to his ex’s bank account with a message that said “Answer your phone.”

When the woman told him she had called the police, he allegedly sent 26 more messages asking her not to report him to the police or her job.

Police allege Davis dressed in black and wore black latex gloves and hid next to her car as the woman left work at 9pm on September 6 last year.

‘Come here. You’re going to get in the car,’ he allegedly told her as she approached.

According to police, Davis allegedly grabbed her as she screamed for help.

He allegedly loosened his grip when a nearby ute stopped, allowing him to free himself.

However, the superyacht worker chased her and put his hands over her mouth, telling her to “shut up.”

Police allege he took his ex to the car and pulled out a knife.

Davis is also alleged to have sent the woman (pictured) more than 20 text messages, asking her not to tell anyone about the alleged kidnappings.

The woman told police that Mr. Davis told her to unlock his phone and “delete all evidence.”

They drove to Manly, where he allegedly made his ex delete all his messages, screenshots and call logs.

Police claim he also demanded the woman take a “blood oath” not to tell anyone about his actions, which she did to appease him.

“This involved the victim making a small cut on his left index finger with the knife, causing it to bleed,” court documents state.

Police say the former couple drove back to the marina and Davis allowed them to drive home.

He was arrested the following day and charged with nine offences, including two counts of taking/detaining a person with intent to obtain advantage and using an offensive weapon to commit an indictable offence.

The superyacht worker has not yet pleaded guilty to the charges.

On Tuesday, Sydney Downing Center Local Court heard Davis would have to wait two months for his matter to progress while the parties hold a conference on the case.

He will remain free on bail until he returns to court in June.

The Central Coast resident was granted bail in November last year after his family offered a $1 million guarantee.
