A brawl broke out between England and Germany fans tonight after the home country was eliminated from Euro 2024.
Our exclusive video shows England fans taunting German fans, before fists flew as police closed off both sides of the street where fans had been drinking all day in Alstadt.
One witness said: ‘English fans were mocking the Germans for their defeat by Spain and then started singing songs like ‘Have you ever seen the Germans win a war?’
‘There were about 20 English men who confronted a group of Germans and then a couple of them got into a fistfight.’
Glasses were used as missiles and beer was thrown at the Germans, while riot police prevented people from entering the area around a bar called the Steak-Haus.
Fans of England and Germany clashed in violent scenes after the host country was eliminated from the European Championship.
English fans mocked Germany for its defeat and sang songs such as “Have you ever seen the Germans win a war?”

The clashes ended quickly, but the English fans tried to revive the situation again by chanting “Viva Español”.

There were further sporadic episodes of violence involving English fans. Beer was thrown at German fans, leading to further brawls near the Mississippi Bar.
Some England fans were seen inhaling black balloons, while the centre of Alstadt remained tense with riot police charging through the crowd as fights broke out in several places.
British police ‘spotters’ kept an eye on English fans in order to gather evidence and contact their German colleagues.
