Emirates cancels flights between Melbourne and Singapore

Emirates has cancelled its Melbourne-Singapore route after flying between the two cities for 28 years.

The Dubai-based airline Boeing 777s have served this route since 1996.

The airline has not revealed when its planes will stop making the eight-hour flight.

“Emirates will determine the end date of the EK404/405 Singapore-Melbourne service after receiving the final assessment from the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS),” an Emirates spokesperson said. Australian Aviation.

‘Once the end date is finalised, Emirates will communicate the changes to affected passengers and offer alternative travel arrangements.’

Emirates said it would continue to fly between Singapore and Dubai, with multiple flights a day.

It is understood that once the last Emirates aircraft flies from Melbourne to Singapore, the airline will not operate any aircraft between Singapore and Australia.

Emirates will maintain four daily flights between Singapore and Dubai, and two daily non-stop A380 flights from Melbourne to Dubai, despite cutting the Melbourne-Singapore leg.

Emirates previously operated flights from Brisbane to Singapore but discontinued the route in 2019.
