Elon Musk’s ex-girlfriend Grimes sparked a debate on her X/Twitter account on Tuesday, proclaiming that she felt a change in her sexuality after becoming pregnant.
The Canadian singer-songwriter, 36, posted a statement and follow-up question on the social media platform now owned by her ex.
“I became a lot less gay after I got pregnant,” said the Flesh Without Blood artist, who shares three children with the Tesla CEO. “My ability to focus on reading and writing went up a lot, as did my overall creativity, but my ability to focus on technical things went down *a lot*.”
Grimes asked her 1.3 million followers: “Is this all explained by hormones?”
The We Appreciate Power vocalist and the CEO of SpaceX are parents to their four-year-old son X Æ A-12 Musk; his three-year-old daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl; and his son Techno Mechanicus, whose exact age has not been publicly revealed.

The Vancouver native, whose full name is Claire Elise Boucher, answered questions from fans who responded to her initial query.
When a follower said that her gay feelings depended on “being in a heterosexual relationship” with a less agreeable partner, Grimes responded, “I feel like that (should) make me more gay though.”
One user told Grimes that the Musk-owned and operated platform was not the best place to get good answers on the topic.

Grimes noted that “I was reading (about) the loss of gray matter but the enhanced neuroplasticity associated (with) pregnancy.”
Grimes said his “testosterone is very low” after a user suggested he check his testosterone and DHEA levels, adding that he planned to follow up with his doctor about it.
When asked for clarification on what she meant by “being less gay,” the music artist said she was “just less interested in dating girls.”

Grimes and Musk broke up more than three years ago, as he said Page six in September 2021 that he and Grimes were “semi-separated.”
He said at the time that she would continue to live in a home he owns in California.
“It’s mainly that my job at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling abroad, and their job is primarily in Los Angeles,” Musk said. “She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the next room.”
Musk, 53, has loudly declared his support for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in recent weeks and has been married three times.
