New poll shows Donald Trump leading Kamala Harris in key state

When is the Trump-Harris debate and who is the favorite to win?

A new poll from the crucial swing state of Michigan shows warning signs for Kamala Harris as she seeks to secure the Democratic “blue wall.”

InsiderAdvantage’s poll shows Donald Trump leading by one point in the state.

The Republican candidate has 49 percent and Harris 48 percent, indicating that it will be an extremely close race in the state that Democrats must win on their way to the White House.

The InsiderAdvantage poll was conducted among 800 likely voters on September 11-12, after the presidential debate.

Michigan has 15 electoral votes at stake in November. Trump managed to flip the state red in 2016, but in 2020 President Biden won and Democrats have since scored a triple victory in the state.

The Real Clear Politics average shows Harris ahead by less than a point in the state.

Trump says Haitian immigrants have ‘destroyed’ Springfield, Ohio

Donald Trump said he expected to be called the “border president” as he launched an attack on how the influx of Haitian immigrants into Springfield, Ohio, has “destroyed” residents’ way of life.

The former president said more than 20,000 migrants arrived in the city when he attacked Kamala Harris at the border.

He also said Harris would turn the United States into a “poor, violent Third World refugee camp, which in some ways it already is.”

Trump lists migrant crimes under Kamala Harris in San Francisco and calls her the ‘godmother of sanctuary cities’

Donald Trump has criticized Kamala Harris’ record on crimes against immigrants in her home state of California.

Kamala was the godmother of sanctuary cities. She was on the front lines. And she was also present in the “defund the police” movement.

The former president spoke at Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles in Rancho Palos Verdes, with the Pacific Ocean as his backdrop.

This course is one of the best in the world.

It’s a major property, as you can imagine. Plus, there are a lot of weddings and events there. And in the ballroom right behind you, people are getting married literally every night.

President Joe Biden has criticized Donald Trump for spreading false reports about migrants eating their pets, saying it was sparking attacks on the Haitian community.

“The Haitian American community is under attack right now,” Biden said at the White House during an event for Black Excellence.

“This has no place in the United States. This has to stop. What he’s doing has to stop,” he said.

Trump has doubled down on his comments that immigrants in Springfield City, Ohio, are eating pets. The false rumor has spread online and prompted threats in the community.

Springfield, Ohio, Mayor Rob Rue said Thursday’s bomb threat that forced the evacuation of City Hall, two schools and other community buildings was explicitly anti-immigrant and hostile to the city’s Haitian community, after Trump fueled a right-wing conspiracy theory that some residents’ pets are being eaten.

EXCLUSIVE: British PM Keir Starmer strains to meet Trump and Harris

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer pushed to meet Kamala Harris and Donald Trump during his brief visit to the United States, but their campaign schedules interfered.

The prime minister is “keen to meet both candidates if the timetables align in the future,” a British official told DailyMail.com.

Starmer is keen to sit down with whoever succeeds President Joe Biden amid questions about what the special relationship between the two countries will look like after the November election.

Harris is campaigning in Pennsylvania on Friday, while Starmer is scheduled to go to the White House to meet with Biden. Trump is on the West Coast, fundraising in California and will then hold a rally in Las Vegas.

ABC News denies Kamala Harris received debate questions in advance

ABC News issued a statement denying MAGA-fueled allegations that Vice President Kamala Harris had an advantage during this week’s presidential debate.

Former President Donald Trump said Wednesday on Fox & Friends that Harris was “awfully familiar” with the questions posed to her by moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis.

Muir and Davis have been criticized for fact-checking Trump in real time during Tuesday night’s debate in Philadelphia.

Donald Trump supporter Laura Loomer sparks civil war against MAGA

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign hit some turbulence as the MAGA world fell out over his cozy relationship with right-wing provocateur Laura Loomer.

The 31-year-old activist accompanied Trump on his private jet as he traveled to the presidential debate in Philadelphia and the Sept. 11 commemoration in New York on Wednesday.

Loomer, known for launching hate-filled tirades against a wide range of religious and ethnic groups, has been described as Trump’s “security blanket.”

“I spent a few days with Laura Loomer earlier this year and came away with the impression that she functions as a security blanket for Trump,” Washington Post reporter Kara Voght tweeted.

“When the campaign asks her to deny her deep-rooted tendencies, Loomer encourages them. And Trump loves it.”

Despite the comfort she provides, a range of Republicans, from Marjorie Taylor-Green to Senator Lindsey Graham, have denounced Loomer as “appalling and extremely racist.”

Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer prepare for crucial talks at the White House

President Joe Biden has signaled a new openness to allowing Ukraine to send long-range missiles to Russia amid a warning from Vladimir Putin that such a move would lead to “war.”

Biden is expected to discuss the issue with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer when the two meet at the White House on Friday afternoon.

US officials told CNN they did not expect immediate approval from Biden to allow the launch of US-provided military tactical missile systems, known as ATACMS, against targets inside Russia.

But the UK has sent its own long-range Storm Shadow missiles to kyiv. Their use, along with similar weapons from France, is currently limited to inside Ukraine.

A change in that policy will require US approval, which is what Biden and Starmer will discuss at their meeting on Friday.

Sarah Ewall-Wice, US Senior Political Reporter:

Kamala Harris heads to Trump country today to campaign in counties Trump won in 2020 and 2016 as she looks to win Pennsylvania.

The vice president will first head to Johnstown, Pennsylvania, this afternoon. This is Cambria County, where Trump won with more than 68 percent of the vote in the last election, although he lost the state.

From there, he’ll head to Wilkes-Barre, which is in Luzerne County. Trump won there in 2020 by more than 56 percent.

It’s part of the second leg of Harris’ ‘New Way Forward Tour’ as he mounts an aggressive campaign down the stretch.

The decision to head to so-called Trump country is part of an effort by Harris’ campaign to boost her support.

In Johnstown, Harris will meet with a local small businessman to promote her economic plan. In Wilkes-Barre, she will hold a rally at the McHale Center.

The last Democrat to win both counties in a presidential election was President Obama in 2008. He also won Luzerne in 2012.
