The earthquake hit Burra at around 7.35am on May 13 and around 50 people reported feeling it.

Its epicenter was about 15 kilometers south of the city and had a depth of 9 kilometers.

David Love, a seismologist at the Australian Seismological Association Inc, said the quake could have been felt up to 40 kilometers from the epicenter.

‘The region is quite active and small events are held regularly. “It is part of the Flinders Ranges – Mount Lofty seismic zone,” he told the Adelaide Advertiser.
