Earthquake shakes Adelaide: Hundreds of people feel a magnitude 2.7 tremor

A 2.7 magnitude earthquake shook the Adelaide Hills.

The small but noticeable tremor was felt by at least 300 people in and around Adelaide.

Its epicenter was 22 kilometers below Mount Barker at 7:16 p.m. on Monday.

There is no tsunami threat.

Australian Seismological Association chief seismologist David Love told the Adevertiser that not many people would have felt Monday’s earthquake.

“Some people have felt the shock, but only weakly, given its considerable depth,” he said.

In March 2022, a magnitude 3.7 earthquake struck a similar area.
