A Dubai princess has shocked the United Arab Emirates after apparently walking out on her husband in a brutal Instagram post just two months after welcoming their first child, according to reports.

A post on the official account of Sheikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the 30-year-old daughter of Dubai’s ruler, appeared to announce an impending divorce from her husband Mohammed Bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum.

The message read: “Dear husband, since you are busy with other partners, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you.

Take care, your ex-wife.

The couple appear to have unfollowed each other on social media and have deleted all posts of them together from their respective accounts.

They officially tied the knot just over a year ago, in May 2023, and had a baby girl in May of this year.

There has been no official statement from the House of Maktoum, the royal family that rules Dubai and from which Sheikha Mahra comes. Many on social media speculated that the princess’s account might have been hacked.

One social media user said: “I feel empowered when a woman recognises her worth and stands her ground with confidence.”

Another said: “This isn’t the beginning of a new chapter in your life. It’s the beginning of a new book. Congratulations.”

Sheik Mana is a well-known businessman who has been photographed with legendary footballer Ronaldinho and famous social media personality Andrew Tate.

The self-proclaimed misogynist’s two posts were tagged with ‘#togp’, a reference to one of his famous phrases.

According to Expatica, an online site that aims to help expats around the world, while adultery provides legal grounds for obtaining a divorce in the UAE, cheating on your spouse is a criminal offence, leaving the adulterer open to criminal prosecution.

But ex-couples can divorce in as little as a month, if they agree to a divorce by mutual consent that does not require a legal reason.

MailOnline has contacted the Dubai government for comment.
