Donald Trump has vowed to jail Mark Zuckerberg for life if Facebook “illegally” influences US elections.
The former president said that the founder of the social network “will spend the rest of his life in prison” if there is interference.
In a new book, Trump said he was “watching[Zuckerberg]closely” ahead of the November presidential vote.
The book, called Save America, is written by Mr Trump and is described as a coffee table book.
It will be published next week and includes anecdotes from his chaotic tenure in the White House, as well as his reflections on the world.

Trump has claimed in a new book that Zuckerberg (pictured) was plotting a “plot against the president” while in the White House.
Mr Trump says that while he was in office, Mr Zuckerberg would often visit him and “bring his very nice wife to dinner, he was as nice as anybody could be”.
But Mr Trump claims that Zuckerberg was actually plotting a “plot against the president”.
He writes: ‘He told me there was no one like Trump on Facebook, but at the same time, and for some reason, he turned it against me.
“We are keeping a close eye on him and if he does anything illegal this time, he will spend the rest of his life in prison, just like others who cheat in the 2024 presidential election.”
Following Trump’s baseless claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him, Facebook and Instagram suspended him.
Both are owned by Meta, Zuckerberg’s parent company. He was allowed to use both platforms again in January.
