Volunteers have gathered to search the north coast of Massachusetts for the remains of Harmony Montgomery, the murdered five-year-old girl.
Her killer father, Adam Montgomery, 34, was sentenced to 45 years to life in prison for the girl’s 2019 murder in New Hampshire.
He beat Harmony to death for soiling herself and refused to reveal where he left her body.
Crystal Sorey, Harmony’s mother, organized Saturday’s search at the Rumney Marsh Reservation, where investigators believe Montgomery traveled in March 2020.
“That’s the acceptance I’ve had to deal with in my grief, just accepting the fact that he’s never going to do right by her,” Sorey said. Community of Neighbors Neighbors.

Although Harmony’s remains were not found Saturday, officials said they are concentrated in the path of a U-Haul that Montgomery rented in March 2020.
They were able to track the vehicle’s movements between Manchester and the Tobin Bridge in Boston using toll data.
“Adam Montgomery drove 133 miles in the U-Haul truck. After accounting for 3.2 miles round trip in the rental vehicle, he drove approximately 105 miles on his route, including the Tobin Bridge tolls,” said New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General Ben Agati.
‘He traveled north, then south, then north again through those tolls before returning to Manchester. This left him with approximately 26 miles of travel time between the Econo Lodge in Manchester and the Tobin Bridge.
Harmony’s remains are likely located somewhere along this route.

Montgomery was convicted in February of Harmony’s murder, as well as witness tampering, falsifying physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
Prosecutors gave the killer one last chance to reveal where Harmony’s remains are in exchange for the state recommending a lesser sentence, but were met with silence from Montgomery’s attorneys.
He was sentenced to 45 years to life in prison for the brutal murder of the five-year-old boy, and is serving a minimum sentence of 32 1/2 years in prison on unrelated weapons charges.

Montgomery had custody of Harmony. His mother, who no longer had a relationship with him, said she last saw Harmony during a video call in April 2019.

She eventually went to police, who announced they were searching for the missing girl on New Year’s Eve 2021. Montgomery and his wife told police he had taken their daughter to live with Sorey in Massachusetts.
Harmony’s stepmother, Kayla Montgomery, was released on parole in May after serving an 18-month sentence for perjury.
She testified that her husband killed Harmony on December 7, 2019, while the family was living in their car.
Kayla Montgomery said he was driving to a fast food restaurant when he turned around and repeatedly punched Harmony in the face and head because he was angry that she was having bathroom accidents in the car.
He said he then hid the body in the trunk of a car, in the roof vent of a homeless shelter and in the freezer of his workplace before disposing of it in March 2020.
