The lawyer for one of Diddy’s accusers claims there is a “cover-up” as officials refuse to hand over police reports detailing how the disgraced rapper allegedly raped his client.
Ariel Mitchell-Kidd, a lawyer representing one of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ recent accusers, said NewsNation’s Banfield, hosted by Laura Ingle, that he was told he “needed a subpoena to obtain records” from his clients’ 2018 report from the Orinda Police Department.
Combs, 54, who was denied bail by a judge and pleaded not guilty to all charges, was charged with sex trafficking, extortion and transportation into prostitution earlier this month in New York City .
Mitchell-Kidd explained the many obstacles she has faced with authorities after receiving word Tuesday night from the county that she “needed a subpoena” to access public records.
‘I have never experienced any situation where I was told I needed a subpoena to obtain public information.
‘I was stunned. “I was shocked and it became clear to me that some kind of cover-up was going on,” he said.

“I have never experienced a situation where I was told I needed a subpoena to obtain public information,” Mitchell-Kidd said, referring to documents detailing that the disgraced rapper (pictured in 2020) allegedly raped her client.
Mitchell-Kidd referred to the Freedom of Information Act, “which requires that public information be provided freely,” she said. “That’s why it’s a federal law.”
He further explained that the county did not initially tell him he needed a subpoena to obtain the documents.
“At first they just told me that all I had to do was send a letter on my letterhead with my client’s information, the report date and the report number, and that they would send me the information within 10 days,” he said. he said the lawyer.
Mitchell-Kidd added that she also asked the county if they needed payment for the documents, including the body camera footage, the report and “any subsequent amendments to that report.”
And they shut me down completely. “I have never experienced this in my life,” he added.
She previously told NewsNation that her anonymous client contacted her a few weeks ago and told her the details of the alleged assault.
‘She called me and told me about her assault and her escape. “I was at a friend’s house who had ties to the industry and Diddy decided to come over,” Mitchell-Kidd revealed.
She added that her client later discovered that Combs planned to sex traffic her after her arrival.
“This led to him being served a drink. She started to feel dizzy. Combs sexually assaulted her with an inanimate object.
“And then he ordered another gentleman to sexually assault her while he watched and pleasured himself,” Mitchell-Kidd said.
The attorney said her client managed to free herself and ran into the street while a neighbor reportedly watched her escape.
According to Mitchell-Kidd, the neighbor called police and reported the incident, adding that they initially left out Combs’ name before adding it back later.
The attorney said her client later discovered Combs had plans to sex traffic her after arriving at “the house of a friend who had ties to the industry.”
Although she hit a wall when trying to access the documents, the attorney revealed that her client obtained a rape kit at the time of the alleged incident.
‘Yes, I found out. I had a four-hour conversation with my client today. We pretty much went over the factual part (of his complaint).
‘I found out she went to two different places. ‘She went to her primary care doctor and then she also went to the hospital,’ he said.
Mitchell-Kidd added that his client has said “some explosive things” about when “the police were called at the time of the assault.”
“And even when the police came to the hospital because when she went to the hospital they called a different police station for her to come,” he added, noting that it is “very strange and strange” that she was not able to receive the requested documents. .
“She (the client) even said they sent her a letter, that the police sent her a letter, that if she wanted to get her own police report she needed a subpoena,” Mitchell-Kidd said.
‘I have never heard anything like this, it is against federal law. The Orinda Police are violating federal law and I will make sure that if they want to be the next face in a lawsuit, they can be the next,’ he added.
The Orinda Police Department did not respond when contacted by DailyMail.com.
Combs is currently being held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center awaiting trial.
Prosecutors have accused him of overseeing a sordid empire of sex crimes.
He is accused of inducing female victims and male sex workers to perform drugged sex shows, sometimes all day long, called ‘Freak Offs’.
The indictment against him also alleges that he coerced and abused women for years while using blackmail and shocking acts of violence to keep his victims in line.
Diddy has since issued an angry denial from jail after 120 more of his alleged victims came forward with sexual assault complaints.
Following the announcement of the allegations in Texas, a lawyer for Combs said the entertainer “cannot address all of the baseless allegations in what has become a reckless media circus.”
‘That said, Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies, as false and defamatory, any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors.
“He hopes to prove his innocence and vindicate himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.”
The alleged victims will file multiple lawsuits detailing allegations of sexual assault spanning more than 25 years and including women and men who were minors at the time of the reported assaults.
