Chris Pratt has paid an emotional tribute to his former stunt double following his death aged 47.
Tony McFarr died Monday at his home outside Orlando, Florida. His family says they still don’t know how he died, but Farr’s mother, Donna, told them TMZ His death was “unexpected and shocking.”
McFarr was a talented stuntman known for his work on Jurassic World, Antman and The Wasp and Darkest Minds, among others, stepping into the shoes of some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
Pratt, 44, took to his Instagram Stories to pen a message for McFarr and reflect on their ‘endless hours on set’ together.
He wrote: “Devastated to learn of the loss of my friend and former stuntman Tony McFarr. We made several films together. We played golf, drank whiskey, smoked cigars and spent endless hours on set.

“I’ll never forget his toughness. I remember he was shot badly in the head (in the title sequence of Guardians 2) and had several staples in his head; he came back to work ready to start again.
‘He was an absolute stud. He was always a gentleman and professional. We will miss you. My prayers are with his friends and family, especially with his daughter.”
The star shared snaps of him and McFarr on the set of the Jurassic World and Passengers movies.
The Orange County medical examiner told the outlet that it is conducting toxicology reports as it investigates the death.

An obituary indicates that he is in the care of the Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home.
On her Instagram, a man claiming to be her nephew posted a tribute beneath her most recent photo.
“Get off Uncle Tim, I’m going to miss you,” Noah Keez posted. “Don’t do extravagant things in heaven.”
McFarr replaced Pratt as Star Lord in the popular Marvel Universe franchise films.
The two first worked together on Jurassic World in 2015. McFarr had more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry according to his LinkedIn.
His IMDb page lists among his credits box office hits that include the films The Hunger Games, Captain America, and Planet of the Apes.
He began his career in 2011 with a stint on the police drama Bones.
The Orange County Medical Examiner is conducting toxicology tests to determine the exact cause of death.

McFarr (pictured with Pratt) performed stunts for Chris Pratt’s character, Star Lord, in the Guardians of the Galaxy films.
In addition to his film roles, McFarr was a successful restaurateur and owner of the poké bar Reel Bowls and The Fit Kitchen, which he owned with his wife Thais McFarr.
Reel Bowls first opened its doors in February, according to Instagram posts.
McFarr graduated with a business degree from Florida State University and earned his MBA from LSU Shreveport.
At the time of his death he lived in a four-bedroom house valued at $500,000.
