Dave Portnoy says he underwent a procedure to remove a cancerous mole from his neck after appearing on Barstool’s BFFS podcast with a significant cut on his neck.
Co-host Brianna LaPaglia asked Portnoy, 47, what had happened to cause the cut, on the lower left side of her neck.
‘Do you have a scratch on your neck?’ They asked Portnoy, to which he responded, “Yes, you’re the first person to ask.”
‘Are they points?’ LaPaglia asked again, to which Portnoy simply responded, “Yes, cancer.” I beat him though.’
LaPaglia then asked Portnoy if it was “from being in the sun all day and not wearing sunscreen.”

Portnoy said it was a skin cancer scare and on Monday underwent the procedure to remove a mole.
He had a patch on his neck Monday when he celebrated the Celtics winning the NBA title.
“Yes,” Portnoy responded. “That’s why I didn’t go to the Celtics game.”

“Yes,” Portnoy said. ‘It’s not scary. I want to say it is, but it isn’t. I add it to my list. I had a heart attack, cancer and a bee sting, I got through it all. And it’s hard to complain, I lay in the sun.
‘I’m starting to get the hang of it. I went to a doctor, had surgery on my skin and they scraped it off and one of them came back cancerous. I don’t know, 10 or 12 points there.
‘It has points below, above. It is too bad**. Listen, you don’t hear me complaining about that.
‘I don’t want to say, “Oh, I have cancer, feel bad for me,” but I wanted sympathy. If you are going to have cancer, it is the best. I didn’t even tell anyone I was doing it.
“There is clearly a serious cancer. Mine was not. But now I have the right to say that I am a cancer survivor. It seems that I was stabbed.
In May, Portnoy tweeted that she wanted to see a dermatologist for her moles.
Portnoy said the procedure meant he missed the Boston Celtics’ NBA title-winning game.
Portnoy tweeted on May 20 that he wanted his moles checked. He wrote: ‘I’m looking for the best dermatologist in Miami to tell me how my moles are. Lead from the front. I suck at doctors.
Portnoy missed his beloved Boston Celtics as they won the NBA title by beating the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night after sitting courtside in previous games.
He won a surprising $1.6 million bet by backing his team to emerge victorious over the Mavs.
While he wasn’t at TD Garden, he shared a video to X of him celebrating by smoking a cigar and there was a big medical patch on that side of his neck.
