Nicole Richie looked incredible at the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards held on October 28 in New York City.

The ‘Simple Life’ star and fashion designer showed off her style on the red carpet in a black leather Proenza Schouler dress with a sexy low back.

Her understated and elegant look was completed with a stunning beauty look created by celebrity makeup artist Vincent Oquendo.

Vincent was inspired by fashion and beach icon Jerry Hall’s iconic beauty looks from the 1970s, evoking a modern take on classic Hollywood glamour.

The artist explains how to achieve the look step by step.

Before applying any makeup, Vincent prepped the star’s skin with Solawave’s Radiant Renewal Skincare Wand, Eye Recovery Pro Mask, and LightBoost Activating Serum + Eye Cream.

“For Nicole’s look at the CFDA Awards, I wanted her skin to look sun-kissed and luminous, almost like a sunset,” Vincent shared.

‘Solawave was perfect for prepping my clients’ skin so they look refreshed for the red carpet, especially when I use warm, sunset-inspired makeup colors.

‘I started Nicole’s skin prep by applying the Solawave LightBoost Activating Serum, gently massaging in a few drops to hydrate and plump the skin.

‘The activating properties of the serum made the skin more prepared for the galvanic current of the Solawave 4-in-1 Radiant Renewal Wand to smooth and soften before makeup application.

‘Lastly, I used Solawave LightBoost Eye Cream and applied a small amount around her eyes with my ring finger, followed by Solawave Eye Recovery Mask. This helped reduce puffiness and brightened the under eye area.

To create her makeup look, Vincent used Laura Geller bestsellers including Serum Blush Cheek Tint and Baked Blush-n-Brighten for a radiant, sunset-perfect glow.

To start, Quench-n-Tint Hydrating Foundation in the shade Medium was evenly applied all over the face for an even, hydrating base.

Then followed with Ideal Fix Concealer in shades 210 and 250.

210 was used to highlight the under-eye area and shade 250 was applied to any areas that needed additional coverage.

To set the foundation and add a little more coverage, Vincent dusted Double Take Baked Versatile Powder Foundation in the shade Golden Medium, focusing on the T-zone for a natural matte finish.

For a sun-kissed look, Serum Blush Cheek Tint in the shade True Tawny was applied to the apples of her cheeks and blended towards the temples.

Finally, a combination of Baked Blush-n-Brighten in Beach Horizon and Summer Orchid on the cheek completed her complexion with a radiant glow.

For the eyes, Vincent started with a wash of color of the Kajal Longwear Eyeliner in the shade Smokey Amethyst Kohl all over the lid.

She mixed the color with the shade Acacia from the Copper & Khaki eyeshadow palette from the Casual collection.

The upper lash line was defined with Kajal Longwear Eyeliner in the shade Deep Black.

She slightly extended the eyeliner to achieve a soft wings effect.

For added definition, INKcredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Pencil in the shade Blackbird was applied to the waterline.

To complete the look, Vincent applied a swipe of Fine Shine Glossy Lip Oil in the shade Rose Garden, which added a hint of rosy color and a subtle shine, leaving lips looking fresh and hydrated.
