A woman has died in a car crash that left nine other people, including five children, injured on a road in the Northern Territory’s outback.
The two-vehicle crash happened near Papunya, about 240 kilometres northwest of Alice Springs, on the Newhaven Access Road, shortly after 1pm on Friday.
The woman died at the scene while nine other people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Among the other injured passengers were five children between the ages of five and ten.
Northern Territory Police said a crime scene has been established and investigations are continuing.
43 lives have already been lost on the territory’s roads this year.
