Comedian Bill Maher has launched his latest criticism of President Biden, saying there is “no chance” the 81-year-old will end up as the Democratic nominee.

The ‘Real Time’ host said in a recent appearance on The Rubin Report that Biden will eventually be forced to drop out of the race because “the pressure will continue to mount,” but insisted that for Democrats, “there’s still time” to turn things around.

“It doesn’t have to be a disaster,” said Maher, who previously claimed the president was “done” on Friday’s episode of “Real Time.”

This comes as a growing number of incumbent Democrats have called on Biden to step aside from the presidential race, and polls consistently show him losing in key states in a showdown with Donald Trump.

Maher sat down with the show’s host, conservative commentator Dave Rubin, in an episode released Tuesday, though it appeared to have been recorded before the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.

Rubin, a former Democrat who has since become a staunch Republican and backed Ron DeSantis’ presidential bid, began his interaction by calling Biden’s escalating campaign an “epic disaster” for Democrats.

But Maher responded that hope is not lost as long as Biden steps aside, and even speculated that the left might have an easier time defeating Trump if it nominates a moderate, charismatic candidate.

“This is a great opportunity, America likes what is new,” he said.

“It almost doesn’t matter who it is. Just someone new. The less we know about him, the better.”

Maher, directing his comments at the Democratic Party, continued: “All you have to do is have everyone who’s not 100 years old, has a ‘D’ in their name and is some kind of centrist and you can win this election. Just give us that option.”

The comedian compared the current state of the nation to a “sitcom that’s been on for eight seasons,” and joked that “we need new characters.”

He added that while Biden appears to be holding on stubbornly now, “the pressure will continue to mount,” and Maher said he would “bet money that he just won’t be the nominee.”

On his most recent episode of “Real Time,” Maher struck a similar tone as he listed a number of potential replacements he believes could beat Trump.

It started with Vice President Kamala Harris, who, as the natural heir to the Democratic nomination, “would be getting all of Biden’s campaign money,” Maher said.

“And on the issue of abortion, she’s a living reminder to women that Republicans are attacking the abortion pill,” he continued. “She won’t just protect Plan B, she is Plan B.”

He also cited her history as a prosecutor in California, noting that “Kamala was putting criminals in jail before liberals decided that was a bad thing.”

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s name has often been mentioned as a possible White House candidate, with Maher calling her a “very attractive option.”

However, Maher noted that “for some reason, Harris has never been popular,” citing her poor performance in the 2020 presidential primaries as evidence.

‘You can count the number of delegates he won… on one hand, as long as that hand doesn’t have fingers.’

Maher then moved on to two other contenders who could overtake Harris at the top of the ticket, namely California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

Maher said Newsom’s biggest drawback appears to be that he is “too shrewd,” but he felt this is not such a negative trait, because “being shrewd is something no one has accused Biden of lately.”

“And at 6’3″ and 210 pounds, he is actually the height and weight Trump claims to be,” he added.

The comedian also put a positive spin on Whitmer’s hypothetical candidacy, saying she is a “very attractive option.”

She noted that she is a popular governor in must-win Michigan and has a number of policy accomplishments to draw on, including raising wages, protecting abortion rights and legalizing marijuana.
