Former Barcelona and Spain star Andrés Iniesta is reportedly set to announce his retirement from football.
The 40-year-old has been without a club since leaving Emirates Club in the United Arab Emirates this summer after his contract expired.
And according to ReliefThe iconic midfielder will end his career next week after teasing via a social media post.
Iniesta, who scored the winning goal in the 2010 World Cup final against the Netherlands, posted a video of him painting a mural of himself.
And he subtitled it: ‘COMING SOON. 8, 10, 24’, the day on which he will announce his retirement from the sport, the number eight being synonymous with his number on the shirt.

Iniesta scored the winning goal in the 2010 World Cup final against the Netherlands
Iniesta’s professional debut dates back to 2002, after passing through the famous La Masia academy in Barcelona.
He spent 16 incredible years in the Catalan team’s first team, playing 674 games and contributing 57 goals and 135 assists.
Iniesta also won 32 trophies with Barça, the second most in the club’s history behind Lionel Messi, who won 35.
His record includes four Champions Leagues, nine League titles, six Copa del Rey and three Club World Cups.
The veteran was a third of one of the most iconic midfielders in history alongside Sergio Busquets and Xavi, and part of one of the best teams that won the treble with Pep Guardiola in 2009 and 2011.
Iniesta also enjoyed much success with Spain, having played 131 times for the national team and 13 goals to his name.
He played 674 games for Barcelona and contributed 57 goals and 135 assists.
Only Messi (left) has won more trophies at Barcelona than Iniesta’s incredible 32.
He was at the heart of the Spanish team that won Euro 2008, the 2010 World Cup and then Euro 2012.
After leaving Barcelona in 2018, Iniesta joined Japanese side Vissel Kobe and won a league title and a cup in five years.
He spent last season with Emirates in the United Arab Emirates and scored five goals in 20 appearances.
