Food lovers were left outraged after spotting a packet of Tim Tams in a regional store for an eye-watering amount.
The popular Arnott’s biscuit costs $11.70 at a gas station in Kalumburu, in Australia’s far northwest, more than four times the $2.50 price at Coles.
Hundreds of customers were left stunned by the high price after a picture was shared on Facebook.
The cost left a sour taste in the mouths of customers who wondered how venues are supposed to cope with rising prices amid the cost of living crisis.
“These are the prices of petrol and Tim Tams for some of our most regional and remote communities, and a 2 liter bottle of milk will set you back $21,” the Facebook caption read.

This also highlights how prices have increased much more in regional areas compared to metropolitan areas.
Madeline Gallagher-Dann, chief executive of the Kalumburu community, said ABC that “costs have definitely skyrocketed” in the remote town and that it is a “burden on local families.”
An Arnott’s spokesperson told FEMAIL that the brand does not set the price consumers pay, but retailers do.
The price left a sour taste in the mouths of customers who questioned how Australians are supposed to cope with rising prices amid the cost of living crisis.
‘We offer a recommended retail price (RRP), which is only a recommendation. “The list price at which Arnott’s sells its products to retailers is the same for all retailers in the country,” the spokesperson said.
The Facebook post received more than 4,500 likes and hundreds shared their outrage at the walk.
“That’s embarrassing,” one wrote.
“Australia is the so-called ‘lucky country,'” wrote another.
An Australian living abroad said she spends less buying Tim Tams in Germany.
Another added: ‘Unfortunately, the costs associated with transport are passed on to the customer. And companies need to cover these costs to be able to function.”

Last month, Arnott’s responded when an Australian accused the brand of reducing the amount of Tim Tam biscuits in each package.
Amanda Catalano, host of the Put your head down podcast, bought the new Tim Tam Deluxe Café Latte range and noticed it only contained eight biscuits.
In a now-viral TikTok, he declared that “the inflation crunch is getting so ridiculous” after comparing it to an iconic ’90s commercial with Cate Blanchett, where the package had 11 cookies.
I haven’t bought a pack of Tim Tams in years. I think they just offered them to me,” he said, before showing what an “old pack” looked like.
‘This is what I have always remembered. Stacked side by side, with no gaps in between. There are 11 cookies.’
Amanda compared the number of Tim Tams in the commercial to the package she purchased and claimed that the cookies in the new Deluxe edition were “spread out.”
‘Look how spread out they are, there are eight of them! Three cookies are missing. What is that space in between? That’s ridiculous,’ she said.
However, a spokesperson for Arnott’s told FEMAIL this is not correct as the original Tim Tams still contain 11 biscuits, while the limited edition version contains fewer because each biscuit weighs more.
