Australia has won its eighth Olympic gold medal after the country’s golden girls once again triumphed in the pool.

Titmus took home the gold medal with a stunning final leg that began with the United States hot on the Australians’ heels, but the 23-year-old had established a two-second margin of victory when she hit the wall.
