Albanese took to X to express his feelings following Trump’s successful attempt Tuesday night to win the race to the White House for a second term as president.

“Congratulations to President Donald Trump on his election victory,” he wrote.

‘The Australians and Americans are great friends and true allies.

“By working together, we can ensure that the partnership between our nations and peoples remains strong into the future.”

So far he has obtained 267 Electoral College votes out of the 270 needed to win the election.

“Congratulations to President Trump on his return to leadership of the free world,” Abbott wrote on X.

“Self-confidence is what the West needs right now and Trump has it in abundance.”

Morrison simply wrote “Congratulations President Trump” and posted a photo of the two leaders in the White House during their previous terms.

Federal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton also acknowledged the result on behalf of the coalition.

Dutton said the two nations have a long-standing security alliance that will be strengthened by the AUKUS agreement between Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom.

The deal, announced under the Morrison government in 2021, will allow Australia to acquire materials to arm its fleet of nuclear-powered submarines.

Earlier, Trump proudly declared victory in a speech to his supporters.

He was joined on stage by his family, including his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner, who had been absent from the campaign.

“Tonight we made history for a reason, and the reason is that we overcame obstacles that no one thought possible,” he said.

“And now it is clear that we have achieved the most incredible political achievement.”

The devastating moment of truth came for the Harris campaign when Fox News rated Pennsylvania, the most battleground state, in Trump’s favor.

The network also called another battleground state, Wisconsin, before they declared the entire race in its favor.

Trump also won the other key states of Georgia and North Carolina.

Trump will become the 47th president of the United States, four years after his ouster from power.

He will be the first president in nearly 130 years to be elected leader of the United States after losing a bid to be re-elected to the office.
