Angel Reese scored a career-high 20 points during the Chicago Sky’s 83-75 loss to the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday night.
Although her team did not win, the WNBA rookie put on her best display yet, collecting 10 rebounds and 1 assist to win the player of the game award.
He also marked his fourth consecutive game with a double-double, and was 8-for-10 from the field to set another season high for hits.
Teammates Kamilla Cardoso, Chennedy Carter and Marina Mabrey also scored 10 each for the Sky.
“Angel Reese is in the running for Rookie of the Year,” one fan wrote on X.

‘Sky lost, but that was a great game by Angel Reese. The best of the season,” another intervened.
A third echoed the sentiment: “Angel Reese is in the running for Rookie of the Year,” while a fourth fan wrote: “Watching AR actively improve game after game this season has been so impressive!”
Earlier in the night, Reese stunned in a short black gown with a scoop neckline.
She paired the skin-tight ensemble with crisp white Chanel sneakers with black details and a quilted black bag from the French fashion house.
She accessorized with dark tones, a diamond necklace and a silver watch.
Reese, 22, completed the sporty look with a stack of three Van Cleef & Arpels bracelets.
It comes a couple of days after her head coach, Teresa Weatherspoon, said she believes Reese could play for the United States Olympic team along with fellow rookie Caitlin Clark in the future.
She rocked a stunning pre-game look, which included a Chanel bodysuit and accessories.
Reese won player of the game and fans are already predicting she will be rookie of the year.
Caitlin Clark and Reese have developed an on-court rivalry in college and now in the WNBA.
Clark and Reese were excluded from the 12-player roster for this summer’s Paris Olympics, with many criticizing the decision to leave Clark in particular off the roster because of the interest in women’s basketball in recent years.
Both players were first-round picks in the WNBA Draft after a years-long rivalry throughout their college careers.
And according to Weatherspoon, Reese is “showing” why Clark isn’t the only star-studded rookie who could represent the United States at the Olympics when they’re in Los Angeles in 2028 — and beyond.
‘Does she have what it takes? She’s proving it…she’s got what it takes. “You’re absolutely right, she has what it takes,” the coach said of Reese earlier this week.
For the Los Angeles Olympics, some spots could be open for the American squad, as five members of the team are 30 years old or older, including 42-year-old Diana Taurasi.
