Liverpool defender Andy Robertson criticized Moisés Caicedo’s “very bad tackle” which led to Ryan Gravenberch being stretchered off.
Gravenberch suffered an injury after a challenge by Chelsea midfielder Caicedo in the Carabao Cup final.
Robertson followed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in criticizing Caicedo as the Reds’ injury list continues to grow.
Although Liverpool won the Carabao Cup, Gravenberch’s injury was a key talking point after the match.
Robertson told Sky Sports: ‘Ryan’s (injury) is a really bad tackle. You can’t paint it any other way. It’s a really bad tackle on the ankle and we have to hope it’s not as bad as the pain he felt on the field.

“So let’s keep our fingers crossed for that and hopefully, slowly but surely, we’ll get the guys back because the situation is building up now and we’ve got to continue on the path we’re going now.”
“But I hope we start to introduce players back into the team and get stronger and stronger. Then, hopefully, we will have a fully fit team again soon enough to be able to push ourselves until the end of the season.”
Jamie Redknapp said of the challenge at half-time: “It’s extremely clumsy.” It looks disgusting when you look at it like that. Stopping him we can see that Caicedo is not even looking. It’s definitely a yellow card.
“I can understand why Jurgen Klopp was so upset and disappointed with this, but I think that in that situation, a yellow card would be enough.”
After the match, Klopp criticized referee Chris Kavanagh for not punishing Caicedo following the challenge.
He told Sky Sports: “There were two teams that were fighting very hard and the referee wasn’t up to par, that’s just the way it is.” I’m sorry, I know they’ll make a story about it, but it wasn’t even a foul? He didn’t even call a foul.
‘And then the fourth referee explains to me “we can’t give a card because…” oh, good idea. These guys are, I’m not sure if it’s too much or too fast for them, but that situation was obvious.
“The doctor came up to me and saw my foot stepping on my ankle – that’s all it takes for a card.”

Aside from Gravenberch, Liverpool are also currently without many other players, with Mohamed Salah, Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Núñez and Diogo Jota among those out.
Dominik Szoboszlai, Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones, Joel Matip and Stefan Bajcetic are also out, while Wataru Endo was seen wearing a protective boot after the match.
