Frightened passengers escaped from an American Airlines plane at San Francisco International Airport on Friday after a fire broke out on board.
The interior of the Airbus burst into flames at about 12:15 p.m. Pacific time on Friday. Emergency slides were deployed and passengers quickly exited the plane, which was parked at a gate at the time.
There were no reports of injuries and the cause of the fire is unclear. NBC Bay Area reported.
Several fire brigades were called to the scene of the fire, which has now been extinguished.
Passengers were seen gathering on the tarmac after evacuating the plane, and bags full of belongings were also seen scattered nearby.
