Kevin Sheedy has announced his unusual career move.

The AFL legend and former coach has joined forces with OBrien Real Estate to promote homes for sale.

The 76-year-old is currently marketing a home in Richmond that is listed for between $2.75 million and $2.95 million and is expected to sell at auction this week.

He appears in a marketing video for the property group, discussing the virtues of the kitchen’s location in the property.

“Here I am in the beautiful kitchen and when I think about my own life, it’s probably time to go back and start living 6km from Melbourne GPO,” he says.

He also talks about the nearby park, Burnley Gardens.

“You rarely get the chance to get a property like this with a gorgeous park outside to enjoy your relaxation,” says Kevin.

He added: ‘You’re five minutes from the city, the MCG is basically four minutes away and of course Toorak Rd and South Yarra are 10 minutes south of this property.’

The former footballer has long shared his love for his home state of Victoria.

In 2021, he dedicated his passion to the state in a romantic video love letter as the area recovered from its fourth coronavirus lockdown.

The championship-winning player and coach starred in an 84-second video titled ‘A Love Letter to Victoria’ to remind everyone how great his beloved home state is, despite its recent struggles.

Sheedy urged Victorians to stay positive and celebrate their resilience just days after his home city of Melbourne was lifted from its latest two-week lockdown triggered by a fresh Covid outbreak.

This moving video celebrates Victoria’s best features, from its people, love of sport and architecture to the state’s famous landmarks and spectacular wildlife.
