A chaotic road rage incident on a busy Newcastle street has been caught on camera.

In footage shared on Reddit on Monday, a red Ford Escape is seen rear-ending a Volkswagen Tiguan.

The Volkswagen driver then gets out and confronts the Ford driver, attempting to grab him by the window while yelling, “Are you fucking happy, motherfucker?”

He then accuses the Ford driver of tailgating him and shouts: “He’s been behind me since I left the train station.”

Despite the crash, the Volkswagen appeared unharmed because its towbar had caught the Ford’s bumper, which was completely torn off.

“You can’t just corner people in their cars and yell at them because they weren’t up to your standards,” one said.

A second added: “Reacting with rage and anger isn’t going to solve anything. The guy hit him, the damage is minimal to non-existent, insurance will sort it out.”

However, others accused the Ford driver of driving badly.

“The ones that get too close to another vehicle are the worst. I can handle most of them, but I do worry about older or inexperienced people who panic when someone is following them too closely,” said one.

A second said: ‘He’s literally got a Ford bumper hanging off his towbar!

‘I think that could be an indication that the old friend was in trouble and received some karma for his actions.

“Perhaps people who are belligerent about the traffic rules (the three-second interval) should pay attention. I think it erupted for a good reason.”
