A moviegoer has lashed out at AMC Theaters after discovering a fraudulent fee on his concession receipt.
TikToker Kikntiger detailed his frustration in a video titled: ‘Pretty weak move by AMC Theatres.’ The clip It has received 1.2 million views since Thursday.
In it, he explained how after ordering popcorn and two large drinks for nearly $24, he was charged an additional $2 delivery fee on top of the usual $1 service fee.
“The cost of shipping INSIDE a movie theater is insane,” he wrote alongside the clip.
“Companies are getting out of control with their tariffs,” Kikntiger begins his 45-second speech.
“This is for movie theater concessions. You know, this isn’t Door Dash!” he said in disbelief, referring to the popular food delivery app.

“This is at my local movie theater, where the only option for getting snacks is to have them brought directly to your seat,” Kikntiger continued.
‘You can’t just go to the snack counter and order whatever you want and walk to the theater with it. Well, whatever, but they charge you $2 just to deliver it 25 feet from the kitchen? I mean, you’re not taking it to my house. And a $1 service fee on top of that? Why? For the privilege of ordering food?’
Kikntiger said she felt she had to speak out in this particular case because the $2 fee is unavoidable if you buy food at the AMC location she frequents.
“I understand that concessions are expensive, I don’t mind, but charging me a $2 fee that I can’t avoid? It’s ridiculous,” he says at the end of the video.
The post generated a lot of sympathy among other followers online.
“Bring your own food. They never check it. You can literally bring a bag full of food and drinks,” one commenter advised.
“I worked at an AMC Dine-In and even I can’t find a reason in my head for these fees,” another added.
“Are they going to start charging a fee for filling sodas and a fee for bagging popcorn?” a third wondered.
Others were less receptive to Kikntiger’s complaint.
“If you’re going to pay $7.50 for a Coke Zero, you might as well pay the $2,” one surmised.
“Dude, if you want them to work for free, they have to bring it to you while you’re sitting back and relaxing. Come on, stop acting like a Karen, Ken,” added a second.

It seems the addition of fees is nothing new, as a Reddit thread discussed the topic in 2021.
“After ordering tickets online for a dinner theater, I was asked if I wanted to order food ahead of time. I thought this was a nice new feature; after adding my food order, they showed me the price and added a $2.00 delivery fee. I simply cancelled the order thinking I’d like to see them in person,” the Reddit user wrote.
The poster suggested that the fees should be included in the total cost of the items ordered and not noted as an additional charge at the bottom of the check.
“This seems like nonsense. It’s a restaurant where the only purpose is to order food and have it brought to your table,” they added.

A check of AMC Dine-In locations confirms that an additional $3 is added to the bill for any food order. According to the TikTok video, the charge consists of a $2 delivery fee and a $1 service fee.
AMC locations without the Dine-In option charge a flat $1 service fee.
