A mother who shared a video of her home

A mother who shared a video of her “dirty” home after a week of not tidying it has left thousands of Australians divided.

Dani Fraser, A self-described “normal” Sydney resident was confronted with the state of disarray that greeted her at home after returning from a day out.

“This disaster is overwhelming and terrible,” Dani said in a video.

‘I’ve been working two jobs and going to school full time and when I come home to a mess, I don’t want to deal with it.’

She showed a living room floor littered with shopping bags, clothes, high chairs, toys and a kitchen with dirty dishes and clutter-filled workspaces.

The mother said her husband doesn’t want to deal with the mess either, so the house looks like ‘chaos’ after a week without cleaning.

But the Australian worker has a handy trick for tackling the pesky task, even when it seems impossible and she lacks motivation.

Dani simply sets a timer for 30 minutes and cleans and tidies up as much as she can.

Dani Fraser, a “normal person” from Sydney, was faced with the state of disarray that greeted her at home after returning from a day out.

The video revealed a transformed kitchen and living room space after the quick half-hour cleanup, with everything put away, thrown away and cleaned.

“We have done it! We have achieved a lot,” he said.

‘If you find cleaning difficult and overwhelming, try setting a timer… I promise you’ll feel great when you’re done… like a whole new person.’

While the mother admitted she still succumbs to a lack of motivation, she said she knew she wasn’t the only one who felt “frozen” when faced with a huge cleaning task.

Australians were divided in their reaction to the video, with some finding it “refreshingly real” while others thought it was “the height of laziness”.

“I absolutely love your honesty,” one said.

“Sometimes life is overwhelming and that’s okay,” said another.

Others refused to see the silver lining, calling the level of disorder “crazy.”

“How is this normal?” one asked.

“I could never have my house in that state,” added another.

“Clean up as you go. I don’t understand how a house can get so dirty,” added a third.

Many pointed the finger at Dani’s husband, who could occasionally be seen cleaning in the video.

“Your husband needs to do more!” said one.

Mothers of multiple children said the secret to eliminating the overwhelming feeling created by a large mess was to constantly clean and tidy the house completely.

“I learned one thing a long time ago and I still use it today… I never leave a room empty-handed, I take what I can or just one thing,” said one.
