A newly released video captured the moment a suspected killer was shot dead in the central Mexican state of Tlaxcala.
The victim, identified as Jonathan, 23, and members of the gang “Los Barba” were seen on camera trying to ambush a retired military sergeant at his home in the municipality of Totolac, Tlaxcala.
Surveillance footage, which was leaked on social media on Monday, showed Jonathan walking in front of the group before they suddenly opened fire on July 24 at 4:21 p.m.
Three of the gang members briefly disappeared from the camera’s view while a fourth gunman stood several feet from the house reloading his weapon with ammunition.

The gang’s alleged killers were seen on camera fleeing after finishing shooting a retired military veteran.
The veteran fired a shot that hit the metal door of a residence as the gang members began to retreat before Jonathan was shot and fell to the ground.
One of the wounded gunman’s accomplices, identified in the video as his brother, later ran to check on him and shouted at the retired sergeant before kneeling over his friend’s body.
A second video showed Jonathan’s father arriving at the scene at 4:28 p.m. in a private van and crying over his body as he begged police and soldiers to call an ambulance.
Several police officers could be seen showing the bullet casings to Jonathan’s father.
The teenager’s son was eventually put into the vehicle and taken to a local hospital.
Relatives called police for an ambulance before loading the wounded gang member into a pickup truck and rushing him to hospital.
The wounded gang member returned to the scene to check on his brother after he was shot, moments after the group opened fire on the home of a military veteran with whom they had argued in the municipality of Totolac, Tlaxcala, on July 24.
Marines and police allowed the family to remove the wounded gang member instead of transporting him to a hospital in an ambulance.
Azteca News reported that Jonathan remains hospitalized and in serious condition.
Several media outlets reported that the shooting was allegedly sparked by an argument involving the sergeant and gang members at a neighborhood convenience store.
The gunmen followed him to his residence and began shooting before he responded.
