Celine Dion has revealed that her wedding to her former manager, René Angélil, was not as perfect as the stunning portraits made it seem.

‘We rehearsed once with the dress and the big veil and everything, and it was in a big ballroom and everything was made of beautiful wooden floors.
‘I practice and everything is smooth and everything is fine, but when I had to walk through the cathedral, it doesn’t have a wooden floor, it’s carpet. I had an immediate face lift.
‘I start walking and… it’s like, “Will I make it? Will I make it with my future husband?”… I did, so the whole night, everything great, people happy.
‘But when we took off that tiara, I had a cut because the pressure was too much. The next day I wake up, I look in the mirror, I have the size of an egg in the middle of my forehead.
‘I looked at my husband and said, ‘Ha, it’s too late, we’re married.’ But it’s so big… I’m like, okay, let’s go to the doctor. So I had to take antibiotics for about three weeks.’
Paying tribute to her late husband, Angélil, who died of throat cancer in 2016 aged 73, Dion said she still felt “his presence very much”.
“This is a moment that will be with me for the rest of my life,” he said.
