Married At First Sight’s Madeleine Maxwell has broken her silence on why she never attended Sunday night’s explosive reunion.
The psychic medium left fans baffled by her absence during the long-awaited reunion, leaving her ex-husband Ash Galati to lead the rest of the group alone.
Speaking to WhatsNew2Day Australia about the absence, Madeleine said she simply didn’t “align” with Married At First Sight and wanted nothing to do with the show after her dramatic exit earlier this season.
“I chose not to go to the meeting because I didn’t feel aligned with the production itself,” the former Home and Away actress said cryptically.
“The production itself was somewhat contradictory to what they sell in Australia.”

Ash had previously warned that fans would not see Madeleine in the two-episode reunion special during an interview with WhatsNew2Day Australia last month.
“I came back alone, which was a blessing in disguise,” Ash confessed, shedding light on his feelings at the unexpected turn of events.
Despite the difficult journey and Madeleine’s sudden disappearance, Ash expressed a sense of relief at his choice.

“I was waiting for her to come back. I followed things through to the end. She had an obligation to come back to me, to the show, to the other couples. So I did the right thing and showed up. But she didn’t.
The mystery deepened when Ash admitted, “As far as I know, no one has heard from her.”
‘As soon as I left the experiment, I blocked his number. But if he wanted to, he could contact me, but he’s probably forgotten about me.’

In scenes from their honeymoon, Madeleine burst into tears upon seeing a herd of cows and telling Ash that she had been contacted by ‘spirits’ during dinner, leaving her boyfriend confused.
Ash has now revealed even more “wild” moments from their honeymoon that didn’t make it on screen as he gave a candid insight into his MAFS journey.
“I came back alone, which was a blessing in disguise,” Galati confessed, shedding light on his feelings regarding the unexpected turn of events.
Ash described their honeymoon as “traumatic, chaotic and crazy” and claimed that Madeleine made no attempt to get involved or get to know him.
‘She accused me of being a police officer. “I’m surprised they haven’t shown me,” she told WhatsNew2Day Australia.
“She told me, ‘You’re a police officer, you’re trying to interrogate me.’ I said, ‘No, I’m not trying to interrogate you.’ I’m trying to get to know you. There’s a difference,” but she just took whatever she wanted, if anyone asked her any questions about being a psychic or medium, she was super defensive, including other couples at our wedding.’

He claimed there was just a “dead silence” when the cameras weren’t around as he reflected on his struggles to promote his connection with former Home And Away star Madeleine.
Ash admitted that he began to have doubts about his connection the morning after the wedding, but decided to persevere with the experiment after receiving advice from other couples who had overcome their early problems.
“She was very quiet the morning after the wedding, she talked a lot on the phone with her friends, only we didn’t really talk at all, and then as soon as we put the microphone on and when the camera crew was there, it was over the top, She loved me and I’m the funniest guy in the world.
