A young woman described the horror of being chased by a hooded rapist in a deserted New York subway station late at night, before he attacked her.
The 21-year-old, who only wanted to be known as Jamileth, was saved by a security guard who heard her screams and chased the suspect away at the 169th Street stop in Jamaica, Queens.
The Ecuadorian immigrant boarded the F train around midnight on February 24 after finishing her cleaning shift at the office and closed her eyes as she headed home.
When she opened them, a man was looking at her. Later, when she tried to get off the train, he blocked the door while performing a lewd act.
Jamileth, 21, was saved by a security guard who heard her screams and chased the young man away at the 169th Street stop in Jamaica, Queens.
Jamileth said the man punched her in the face and tried to remove her clothes while muffling her screams of terror by covering her face.

Finally, he left and she got off the train. She waited a while on the platform to make sure she was gone before she started walking home.
But he wasn’t gone, he was lurking in the shadows waiting to strike.
As Jamileth began to climb the stairs, she saw him at the top, waiting for her. Her heart stopped, but her only way out was through him.
She continued walking toward the exit as he followed her down a long hallway until she reached a spot out of public view, where he pounced.
‘Start taking me back towards this cove. That’s where he brings me down. He starts dragging me,’ she said. ABC.

The suspect is still at large despite the NYPD releasing photos of his face and surveillance footage of him fleeing in a light blue padded jacket.
But she made enough noise that a security guard heard her and ran to her rescue, scaring the man and calling the police.
‘Now I’m always looking back and I can’t walk calmly. I always think someone is following me. I don’t know what to do. I feel terrible,’ she said.
Jamileth came to the United States in January to support her family in South America and has since switched to day shift to avoid nighttime subway rides.
