  • The victims, ages 5 and 7, were stabbed dozens of times in Naperville, Illinois, before the killer fled to the church.
  • Police say babysitter Elzbieta M. Plackowska, 40, killed her son Justin and Olivia Dworakowski and left them in a pool of blood.
  • Two dogs were also found murdered in a suburban home

Before killing her son and the girl she was supposed to care for, prosecutors say Elzbieta M. Plackowska, 40, told them they would go to heaven and kneel and pray.

Police found Plackowska covered in blood inside a home in suburban Naperville, Illinois, and after extensive questioning, she allegedly told police she had murdered her 7-year-old son Justin and her friend Olivia Dworakowski. because “they had evil within them.”

Prosecutors told a judge this morning that Plackowska was fighting with her husband and felt unappreciated as a babysitter, so she murdered the children in a fit of rage.

Justin was found stabbed 100 times. Olivia was stabbed 50 times. Plackowska was denied bail.

“She told Justin that she was going to heaven tonight while stabbing him repeatedly,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin told the court, according to the Daily Herald.

“He begged her to stop and told her he loved her.”

Berlin described the scene that unfolded before the gruesome murder, saying the two children were jumping on their beds at Olivia’s house, where Plackowska was supposed to babysit her.

Then the nanny ordered them to lie down on the floor and pray before going to bed.

“The children had evil inside them,” Plackowska allegedly told police.

Berlin said that she “was trying to expel evil from them.” She said the devil was inside them.

Both children had their throats slit and Justin was found on a bed, Olivia on the floor.

Prosecutors say that after Plackowska killed the innocents, he began frantically calling a local church, leaving numerous messages.

She then went to a friend’s house and claimed someone had robbed her. Her friend was suspicious of the story because the details kept changing, Berlin said.

Meanwhile, Olivia’s mother, Marta Dworakowski, a nurse, called the police because when she returned home after her night shift, Plackowska’s car was not there and she was unable to get into the house.

Police were able to enter the suburban home on Quin Court shortly after 10 p.m. and found blood throughout the hallway, which led them to the children’s bedroom.

“Both victims had been stabbed numerous times,” Mr Berlin said. “It appeared to police that both victims’ throats had been slit.”

Officers also discovered that the family’s two dogs were also stabbed to death.

When questioned by police, Plackowska told them several stories, including one in which a stalker attacked her own dolls. In the end, they said, she admitted to killing the children.

She told them that she had been fighting with her husband Artur, a truck driver, over his work schedule and that she felt taken advantage of as a nanny. The couple also has a college-age son who has not been named.

Sources told the Daily Herald that Plackowska had been stressed for several days after her father’s death and was eager to return to Poland, a decision her husband opposed.

Olivia was a kindergartner at Brookdale Elementary School and Justin attended Scott School in Naperville District 203.

Police say Plackowska is on suicide watch in jail after she was charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

“In all my years in law enforcement, this was the most horrific and gruesome crime scene I have ever seen,” Naperville Police Chief Robert Marshall told the Chicago Tribune after today’s hearing.

The tragedy comes less than a week after a New York City babysitter allegedly stabbed two young children in her care to death before slitting her throat and wrists in an attempt to take her own life.
