Dry cleaning can be a difficult, time-consuming and expensive task for many, especially those who often have to dress in formal attire.
However, these worries may now be a thing of the past as a cleaning expert has claimed that you can dry clean clothes with just a washing machine.
Hazel Mcinnie, from cleaning company Wee Scotty Cleaners, said she found a way to mimic the effect of a dry cleaner using a specific setting on her own Beko washing machine, which she recommended to viewers.
Writing on her channel on TikTok, Ms Mcinnie said: ‘I’m just going to show you one of these settings on this machine.
‘It’s a Beko. I have had lots of expensive washing machines and I love Beko.

“Even our service technician who services our machines says Beko is the best. So I use the delicate (cycle) anyway.
‘Who knew you could wear your suit pants? I have a suit and I have a men’s three piece suit. This only says dry cleaning, but I’ll show you a little trick.’
The mother of two, who runs her own laundromat, then proceeded to put a laundry box in the washing machine and then set it for a delicate wash.
This automatically changed it to a spin setting at 800rpm, on a 40C wash, adding: ‘That’s all I want’.
Sharing the final results, she added: ‘The wash is done and the clothes washed up great.
‘Now I just have to hang them in a warm room and they will come up great. All you need to do is maybe just a little steam.’
While Hazel has a Beko washing machine, which can be bought from Curry’s for £239, a number of appliances from other brands have a delicate wash setting, meaning her tip can work on a variety of machines.
In response to the video, some users were eager to try the ‘hack’ for the first time, while others said they had been doing it for a long time with great results.

One user said: ‘Been doing this for years, I never use dry cleaners’.
Another added: ‘I always use sart on all my clothes.’
A third was more cautious, warning: ‘Works for many suits but be careful not to wash virgin wool. Suits can separate from the wool lining after being washed too many times.’
A fourth said this also works for bedding, noting: ‘You can also get clean sheets that you put in the tumble dryer with clothing to clean’.
