Gary Goldsmith has revealed he hates it when Kate Middleton is referred to as “ordinary” and says his mother was a multi-millionaire at 30.
The businessman, 59, uncle of the Princess of Wales, 42, participates in the current series of Celebrity Big Brother.
On Wednesday’s episode, Gary was chatting about his family with TV presenter Fern Britton when the topic of his family came up.
Although they had humble upbringings, Gary said, “We were both multimillionaires at 30,” referring to him and his sister Carole.
‘Actually?’ Fern said, sounding surprised. Gary nodded and said that they got their wealth from various sources.

Although they had humble upbringings, Gary said, “We were both multimillionaires at 30,” referring to him and his sister Carole (Carole pictured with husband Michael).
He then added: “I get a little sarcastic when they say Kate is a commoner.” There is nothing in common in her family.
“Look at all those fancy people who are poor,” Fern said.
“With big houses,” Gary added.
Carole founded the company Party Pieces in 1987, which sold party supplies and decorations by mail order.
Her husband Michael, Kate’s father, quit his job at British Airways to help her with the company two years later. Party Pieces was sold in 2023 after she went into administration.
Elsewhere in the episode, Sharon Osbourne attacked Gary while questioning his true intentions for being in the house.
Gary was one of three housemates in the ‘danger zone’ and was at risk of being picked by Sharon, 71, as one of the stars in danger of being eliminated.
Gary, David Potts and Zeze Millz got the chance to explain why they should stay in the house as each begs him to keep them inside.

The businessman admitted that he wants to have the opportunity to change the public’s perception of him, after always being known as the ‘black sheep’ of the family.
Sharon said: ‘So, let’s have a nice little chat, Gary. Tell me why did you accept the offer to enter the house?
Gary said: ‘It bothers me what the public perception of me is. The black sheep of the family. I’m a normal guy. It just so happens that my niece married Will.
The businessman then insisted that he has no interest in being a celebrity.
He said, ‘If I could show people that I’m not that person.’ I’ve really tried hard because this is not my world. In short, I am not a celebrity. I don’t want to be a celebrity, I don’t want to go down that path.
But Sharon was immediately skeptical of this claim and responded, “Why don’t I believe you when you say that?”
