Several train lines are experiencing major delays in Sydney on Friday morning after a guard fell from a moving train onto the tracks (stock)

Sydney is facing major chaos on the train network this morning.

A train guard fell onto the tracks from the cab of a moving train about 6am on Friday near Burwood station in the city’s inner west.

The T9 Northern Line, T2 Inner West and Leppington lines are significantly affected by the incident.

The guard was treated at the scene for leg injuries and paramedics transported her to the hospital, where she is in stable condition.

“Please allow additional travel time due to an incident requiring emergency services at Burwood,” Sydney Trains said on X, formerly Twitter.

‘Trains may stop on platforms or between stations for longer than normal for the duration of the incident.

“Listen to announcements, check information screens and apps for service updates.”
