Kamala Harris paid Oprah Winfrey $1 million during her failed presidential bid as part of her exorbitant campaign spending.
Winfrey’s Harpo Productions received $1 million from Harris’ campaign on Oct. 15 after Winfrey hosted a star-studded event for the vice president in September, the Washington Examiner information.
Winfrey also participated in the Democrat’s final campaign rally in Philadelphia the night before Election Day, where she expressed her support for Harris.
But the legendary talk show host isn’t the only entertainer who received money from the vice president in hopes of helping his presidential campaign.

In total, the Harris campaign spent $1.2 billion on the race, while the Trump campaign spent $750 million, a Financial Times analysis found.
According to a report from The Washington Examiner, his campaign had spent six figures building the podcast set for his small appearance.
The production of the event, like the appearance of the podcast, was a big expense for the campaign that hosted the likes of Lady Gaga (pictured at Harris’ rally in Philadelphia) and Katy Perry on the eve of the election.
While Harris avoided the show’s typically sexual content, she discussed her stance on abortion rights and student debt during the seven-minute session.

The outlet also reported that it was filmed inside a hotel room in Washington DC, and crews built the set to mimic Cooper’s real set in Los Angeles.
While Financial Times analysis claims Harris’ campaign spent $1.2 billion on the race, some believe the race was even more expensive than that.
Harris’ campaign, affiliated PACs and the Democratic National Committee amassed more than $2.3 billion in political contributions.
Donald Trump’s team, affiliated PACs and the Republican National Committee raised $1.8 billion.
After raising nearly $4.2 billion, they spent a combined $3.5 billion on the presidential race, making it the most expensive race ever held according to the analysis.
Despite spending less, Trump ended up defeating Harris in the electoral and popular vote, something the Republican Party has not done in decades.
The Examiner had explored the ways in which Harris’ campaign had managed to overcome the dazzling figure, which included the appearance of the podcast.
According to the outlet, his campaign and its affiliates spent more than $654 million from July to Election Day. Trump spent $378 million, 57 percent less than her.

One vendor, Village Marketing Agency, was paid more than $3.9 million to recruit social media influencers to boost Harris’ online appeal.
