Tasha Ghouri broke down in tears as she detailed the horrible trolling she received about her disability on Saturday night’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The TV star, 26, scored an impressive 39 points for her emotional performance alongside Aljaz Škorjanec in the Couple’s Choice award in P!nk’s What About Us.

Before taking to the dance floor, Tasha explained the heartbreaking meaning behind her performance.

Tasha, who was born deaf and received her cochlear implant when she was five, made history as the series’ first deaf contestant in 2022.

But Tasha admitted she “felt like she had let down the entire deaf community” when she received hundreds of mean comments about her speech after her time on the show.

The dancer’s reason for joining the dating show, besides finding love, was to raise awareness for the deaf community, but instead she received a lot of hate.

In the very emotional interview, she told Strictly viewers: ‘I remember my dad sat me down and looked at me blankly and said, “Tash, there have been a lot of horrible things written about you, especially on social media.”

‘There are videos made about my voice and the way I speak, it became a trend in a moment.

And it really, really hit rock bottom for me. Because I wanted to stand as a representative and I feel like I failed, not only myself but the entire deaf community.’

The show began with a stunning performance by professional dancers performing a medley of Beyoncé’s hits.

Johannes Radebe led the routine while channeling his inner Sasha Fierce, which included bejeweled cowboy hats, power ballad moves, and brilliant sass.

JB Gill, 37, and his professional partner Lauren Oakley, 33, performed their choice of partner to a Bruno Mars medley.

Lauren stepped in as JB’s temporary partner after Amy Dowden was forced to retire due to a health issue.
