Olivia Dunne opened up about her blossoming romance with Major League Baseball star Paul Skenes and revealed that they work so well because of how different they are.
The couple, who recently enjoyed a romantic getaway to Jupiter, Florida, went public with their relationship in August 2023.
And while Dunne’s star has continued to rise through his social media activity in addition to success in gymnastics at LSU, where he will return for a fifth and final year in 2024, Skenes has underscored his credentials as one of the best pitchers in baseball.
‘I feel like his work ethic is something I’ve never seen before. It’s great to hear their advice for me and I feel like it made me a better athlete last year,” Dunne told People.
‘I think we play with each other and make each other better. Paul definitely holds me accountable, which I really appreciate. Sometimes it’s hard to find within yourself the courage to do things.’

Dunne accepted that she is much more comfortable in the spotlight than her boyfriend Skenes.
Dunne added that she is more comfortable in the spotlight than Skenes, but he is becoming more confident in front of the cameras.
‘I love working on social media and enjoy being the center of attention. He doesn’t like social networks at all. We’re just very opposite and I feel like it really works.
“He’s in the spotlight now, something I’ve had for quite some time, and I hope I can help him in that way.”
Dunne has eight million followers on TikTok and 5.3 million on Instagram and recently starred in an energy drink commercial with Travis Kelce.
Meanwhile, Skenes is a leading contender to win the MLB Rookie of the Year award.
He finished the season pitching a 1.99 ERA with a franchise rookie record 167 strikeouts, throwing pitches that regularly topped the 100 mph mark.

However, his Pittsburgh Pirates team failed to make the playoffs and finished the 2024 campaign in last place in the National League Central with a record of 76-86.
“We’re going to be better next year,” Skenes said in September. “We’re going to win a lot more games next year. So (the fans should) keep coming. It means a lot to us. We’re going to give it back to them.
“I didn’t put a lot of expectations into the year other than to really learn and then go out and execute to the best of my ability and whatever happens, happens.”
