In May, Martin revealed that she was elated. about the actress who took on the challenge of playing her and said she would also be eager to help her prepare for the role.

“I want this film to raise awareness about domestic violence, the challenge of sexuality and the overall underdog story,” she said.
“I’m the daughter of a coal miner from a small town in southern West Virginia who made an impact on a sport that wasn’t taken seriously: women’s boxing.”
And although Martin was not involved in the casting and has not yet spoken to Sweeney, she said she was honored to have the Euphoria alum take on the role.
He added that he would love to help her with boxing training, which Sweeney already has experience with.
