Australians have been shocked by how little a doctor is paid despite working long shifts in a hospital.

The doctor revealed that he had spent seven years at university and that his salary “increases as you gain more experience.”

The doctor did not say how long he had been on the job, but he is most likely in his first year after finishing his studies.
According to the Queensland Department of Health, a resident doctor in their second year after finishing university earns $45.46 per hour.
That can amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, depending on the area of medicine a doctor may pursue, but it comes after very high fees for all the years spent in college.
The annual cost of studying medicine in Australia ranges from $10,000 to $40,000 per year for a domestic student, depending on where the person studies and whether it is an undergraduate or postgraduate specialization.
International students can pay up to $80,000 a year to study medicine in Australia.
However, a big advantage that a medical degree has over other qualifications is your employment prospects.
