Donald Trump called his opponent Kamala Harris “retarded” in an unhinged rant against Republican donors.
The former president was giving a speech to some of the wealthiest Americans at Trump Tower in New York City on September 29.
Instead of gently convincing them to open their wallets, he criticized his sponsors for allowing him to fall behind Harris in fundraising while eating steak and baked potatoes.
The vice president has raised more than $1 billion in the just three months since she took over the race from President Joe Biden.

This is more than Trump raised all year, and on top of the cash on hand the Biden campaign had when it bowed out on July 21.
Trump’s vile insult against Harris was the worst comment, but no one was spared Trump’s wrath, seven people there said. New York Times.
Wealthy donors had many reasons to be grateful to him, he insisted, including lowering their taxes, although not everyone listening agreed with that.
Trump also complained about how many Jews supported Harris, given her hardline pro-Israel stance, and claimed they needed to have their heads examined.
He used the same phrase about Jews at many of his rallies and claimed that they would be partly to blame if he lost the election.

His former Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, was also present along with Joe Ricketts and his son Todd, all of whom are billionaires.
At the same time Trump was insulting her, Harris was raising another $28 million at her own fundraiser at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles.
Trump is no stranger to baselessly insulting the mental acuity of his opponents, and did so almost daily while Biden was still running against him.
Last month he called Harris “mentally disabled” at a rally in Pennsylvania.
Harris, by contrast, humiliatedly apologized after answering “well said” to a lengthy question from a voter who called Trump’s actions “mentally retarded.”
‘That word and others like it are not acceptable. Never,’ he said, claiming not to have heard the voter say it at the time.

Harris spent more than Trump on TV ads: between $101.6 million and $48.3 million last month, according to AdImpact, and between $77 million and $9 million on Facebook and Instagram ads.
Trump has a long list of fundraisers to host before the election, but Harris is so flush with money that she won’t be holding them for the rest of the campaign.
The former president is also in a bad mood for spending more time asking for money and less time speaking at rallies.
He’s also frustrated at having to abandon his favorite means of relieving campaign stress, golf, over safety fears after a gunman used a round at Mar-a-Lago to try to shoot him.
