Anne Hathaway humiliatedly apologized for her rude behavior after a 2012 interview resurfaced and went viral.
Reporter Kjersti Flaa, who almost quit her job after her now infamous ‘nightmare’ interview with Blake Lively, reposted her encounter with Hathaway on YouTube last week.
On Tuesday, Flaa revealed that Hathaway, 41, had sent her a “long email” apologizing for the “embarrassing” interview he had with her in the past.
“I have to say I was quite surprised,” the journalist said in a new TikTok clip.

Hathaway, pictured this week, explained what she was going through at the time and apologized for “giving (Flaa) a horrible interview.”
‘I didn’t expect her to approach me at all. “I thought she was never going to watch that video, but she did and she did something pretty amazing.”

The interview he was referring to occurred when the Devil Wears Prada star was promoting Les Misérables in 2012.
During their brief interaction, Hathaway gave brief answers to questions she apparently didn’t want to answer.
At the beginning of the interview, Flaa jokingly asked Hathaway to answer her first question by singing.
“I was going to sing the question to you and you can sing the answer,” he said while laughing.
“Well, I won’t do that, but you’re more than welcome to sing,” Hathaway responded.
Flaa went on to ask Hathaway if she remembered her first crush or if she thought “love was more passionate” during the period on which Les Miserables is based.
Hathaway reportedly reached out to reporter Kjersti Flaa after she shared a viral video of her awkward 2016 conversation with Lively, 37, on TikTok in August.

In response to both questions, Hathaway answered tersely and simply answered, ‘No.’
Discussing the interview several years later, Flaa admitted online that it “didn’t go as planned.”
Flaa had also urged his followers to watch his ’embarrassing’ interview, which he posted on his YouTube channel.
In her recent TikTok post, Flaa said that receiving an apology from Hathaway was “very touching for me.”
“Just talking about it almost makes me cry,” he said.
“I was so grateful that she did that,” she continued.
The journalist explained: “It was a very personal note and we decided that I wouldn’t share exactly what was in the email, but I just wanted to share with you what she did because I thought it was amazing.”
The journalist continued, adding that she responded to the email with gratitude, accepted Hathway’s apology, and even offered to sit down with her for another chat.

Flaa said he has “a lot of respect for people who confess… and say they’re sorry.” This comes after she revealed that Lively never came forward to apologize for her “horrible” comments during her previous interview.
She recalled, “I told her, ‘If you ever want to sit down and talk about it, I’m here.'” And she invited me to interview her for her next movie coming out in May.
Flaa added: “I have a lot of respect for people who acknowledge their mistakes and ask for forgiveness.” Sorry is a very powerful word.
Flaa appeared to be referencing her earlier admission when she revealed that Lively never came forward to apologize for her “horrible” comments during the interview.
“It was a long time ago and I have no hard feelings about it,” he concluded.
