A furious rant left on a car’s windscreen wiper has left a wealthy neighborhood worried and baffled by the mysterious “unhinged” spray.
The 30-word tirade written in capital letters attached to a windshield wiper was shared on the Facebook page of Crows Nest St Ives Community, a group for residents living on Sydney’s north shore.
“Thank you for letting me know what kind of person you would have been during Nazi Germany or the USSR,” the note says.
‘It’s always good to meet the neighbors (sic).
‘Have a nice day.’
Shocked residents were stunned by the level of hate in the message.
“This is really crazy,” one wrote.
Another wrote: “Wow, psychopaths everywhere.”
This note left under a car’s windshield wiper left members of a local Facebook group worried and bewildered.
A third commented: “That’s horrendous – it says more about the person who wrote the note than the owner of the car.”
‘Wordless. What a lunatic,’ was another reaction.
The reason for the note is unknown.
Many asked the author of the note to “relax.”
“Someone will have high blood pressure and eventually have a heart attack,” wrote one local.
Others questioned the appropriateness of historical analogies to murderous dictatorships.
—What is the rule for losing an argument if you are the first to mention Hitler or the Nazis? one person asked before adding that it was “Godwin’s law.”
Some criticized the author for his spelling and grammatical errors.
“What kind of person goes out of their way to print long notes written in capital letters, but doesn’t correct the spelling of ‘neighbors’?” one noted.
Another added: “I don’t want to jump to conclusions… but it sounds like someone can’t spell and has bad grammar skills.”
Some were simply curious to know what offense caused such an outburst.
‘What did you doeeee?’ asked one.
