Nine Entertainment CEO Mike Sneesby has announced he will be stepping down from his role at the company at the end of the month.

Sneesby will step down as both CEO and board member, and CFO Matt Stanton will be appointed interim CEO.

His departure comes after three and a half years as CEO of the media company.

Sneesby said it had been a privilege to lead the mast but it was time for new leadership in a statement released on Thursday.

“I am very proud of the company’s achievements during my time as CEO and thank the board, leadership team and everyone at Nine for their support during my tenure,” the outgoing CEO said.

Nine’s new chairwoman Catherine West thanked Sneesby for his work at Nine on behalf of the board.

“As CEO, his achievements include guiding the company out of the challenging COVID-19 pandemic, securing Olympic rights through to 2032 and advancing Nine’s strategic and cultural transformation,” West said.

‘Top-tier coverage of Paris 2024 showcased the power of Nine’s diversified portfolio of premium media assets.’
